Rage Against the Machine at Saturday Night Live in New York, NY, USA
Rage Against the Machine
NOTE: Live show. Before performing "Bulls on Parade", the band's crew hung upside-down American flags on their amps, and the SNL crew removed the flags before live. The band was protesting against Republican presidential candidate Steve Forbes hosting the episode. After the performance, while in their dressing room, SNL told the band their second performance, "Bullet in the Head", was cut. Hearing this, Timmy Commerford balls up an American flag, enters Steve Forbes' dressing room, and throws the flag at Forbes' family. The Secret Service locked the band in their dressing room and then escorted them out of the building, thus missing the "hugs and goodnights" show ending. The band was "lifetime-banned" from the show.
